The New Castle County Chamber of Commerce offers a head start to small businesses in New Castle County and the Wilmington region with its business incubator, the Emerging Enterprise Center.  New Castle County combines a history of business success with an entrepreneurial heritage.  It was New Castle County that supported the rise of corporate giants DuPont, Astra Zeneca, and Christiana Care.  
 
New Castle County has a proud legacy of being business friendly and it was the county’s leading role in the early mills and shipping that would eventually lead to Delaware becoming the “Corporate Capital of the World.”   
The Emerging Enterprise Center is Delaware’s only small business incubator.  
 
The EEC connects your business with a comprehensive network of partners such as business mentors, investors and banks. The center also provides affordable office space equipped with the infrastructure to catapult your company from the home office to the corporate headquarter.
 
The EEC helps with mentoring and other special services vital to the success of new business.  The county offers an intelligent, ambitious workforce and the EEC provides the tools necessary for fulfilling the entrepreneurial dream.  
 
The current economy (and the future upswing) creates a climate best suited for new and startup businesses.  It was at the height of past downturns that some of the greatest American businesses were formed.  It was on April 4, 1975 during one the nation’s worst recessions that Bill Gates founded his new startup firm, Microsoft in Albuquerque, N.M.
