Program Description
Resident Program
The incubator program is a comprehensive approach that provides a combination of office space and support resources and services. Acknowledging the risk factors for start-ups, the EEC works to provide assistance needed to forge a clear path for success and sustainability.
Support resources and services include entrepreneurial education programs, networking opportunities, and professional counseling and mentoring. Participants have access to 'friends of the incubator' that are willing to donate their time and expertise to guide companies through challenging business situations.
The educational component of the program offers a curriculum that focuses on entrepreneurial issues, and allows clients to attend classes aimed at improving their skills and ability to manage their business successfully. Other on-site support features access to meeting and conference facilities, phone and Internet connections, shared office equipment (copier, fax, and mail), receptionist during Chamber business hours, and free coffee all day!
International Soft Landings Program
The International Soft Landings Program allows the EEC to become an innovation access point for global technology companies considering North American markets. As a "soft landing zone", the EEC will offer cost-effective market entry for small to midsized, high-growth companies planning to expand their marketing reach abroad. The EEC provides a dynamic business environment consisting of modern offices, common areas, and a light manufacturing site located within the current facility.
The EEC is a valuable and affordable choice for foreign companies wishing to do business in the United States, yet not ready to make a physical move. The Soft Landings program provides a marketing presence in the U.S. and allows companies to access the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce's network of contacts.
In addition to access to resources listed above for the other resident companies in the program, other resources provided to international companies in the Soft Landings program include:
- Referral to a select group of servide providers to assist with business structure, immigration, employment, accounting, tax strategies and public relations
- Translation services: Especially for marketing and legal content
- Help with import/export laws
- Mail forwarding services
