Government Relations

The County Chamber represents member business interests at all levels of government.  As your partner, the Chamber works to minimize the legislative and regulatory burden on your company, and foster a sound economic environment in our county and state. We speak as a unified voice for the business community to elected and appointed officials.

To ensure business friendly public policy, the Chamber will focus on:

    •  Knowledge - we track proposals at all levels of government, with an eye on the potential impact of these proposals on our members.

    •  Advocacy - we carry the message to our elected officials, maintaining a daily presence in Dover during the legislative session and at County Council meetings.

    •  Protecting the interests of our members - the Chamber has worked with member companies to seek legislative action concerning issues directly impacting their business.

    •  Access to government - Policy Makers’ breakfasts and luncheons feature our highest ranking elected officials, providing members with direct access to our political decision makers.

In May a delegation of Chamber members travel to Washington DC for our Annual Day on Capitol Hill. This gives our members an overview and an inside look at the inner workings of government in Washington, DC.
