This informative morning symposium will focus on presentations by local companies who have instituted specific Wellness Programs and activities that have proven to be successful in promoting employee wellness and reducing their company's health care costs while increasing productivity.

True Wellness Centers and Spas is motivated in bringing health and wellness to as many people in the community as possible. The new location in Newark, DE, offers Yoga and Tai Chi classes as well as full-service spa with Microdermabrasion and Intense Pulsed Light Therapy.
At the Wellness Symposium they will provide chair massages and will have information about their facility and services. They are also looking to get more involved in the community - so they will be promoting their interest in going out to businesses in the area and holding health-related workshops, discussions, and screenings (free of charge). The workshops can be for the staff, customers/patrons, or both. The True Wellness Center "Docs" are motivated in bringing attention to the importance of preventive care and living a healthier lifestyle - and True Wellness Centers looks forward to participating in this event to get the message out to other businesses and companies

Isagenix International will provide information to small and medium size employers on how they might institute an alternative wellness program at little or no cost to their business. Initially, time and space for an on site presentation to employees who voluntarily wish to participate would be required. Monthly or bi-monthly sessions for support and coaching would be provided. This system of health and wellness that has a +90% success rate (results vary according to the commitment and participation of each individual) should result in reduction of abstenteeism due to illness, a more productive employee and ultimately, a more satisfying work environment

Healthways, BCBS's care management vendor will be providing blood pressure screening.
DE Academy of Medicine:
The De Academy of Medicine will be exhibiting one ot its initiatives - "Delaware Health Source".
Delaware Health Source is a service of the Delaware Academy of Medicine that offers free, reliable consumer health information to people and libraries in the state of Delaware. Delaware Health Source partners with individuals and communities to promote a healthy Delaware and provides unbiased, knowledgeable resources, outreach, and education so Delawareans can make informed health care decisions. The consumer health librarian for new Castle County wil be on hand to answer questions about the best available health information resources.

About the Presenters:
Dale S. Lowe, Rn, BSN, MBA, CPHQ, CPUR, Director , Eugene du Pont Preventive Medicine & Rehabilitation Institute, Christiana Care Health System
Dale graduated with a RN diploma in 1981 and received his BSN from Wilmington College in 1998. He received his MBA from Wilmington University. Dale has been employed with Christiana Care for over 20 years in a variety of positions including Director of Utilization Management & Reimbursement Services. Dale was also the Manager of the Ambulatory Care Center at Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children.
Dale has been the Director of the Preventive Medicine & Rehabilitation Institute since January 2005 with a focus on Health & Wellness programs. He is also a Certified Professional in Health Care Quality and a Certified Professional in Utilization Review and also has extensive experience in data management and performance improvement in the health care arena.
