Legislation Imposing New Lobbyist Reporting Requirements Released from State House Executive Committee
Senate Bill 185, legislation which will create additional disclosure and reporting requirements for registered lobbyists in Delaware, was released from the House Administration Committee on Wednesday, May 9 after a lengthy debate and considerable testimony from various nonprofit groups.
The bill, which passed the Senate on May 2, would require that lobbyists disclose each bill, resolution or regulation on which they are working by making a filing with the Public Integrity Commission within five days of contact with a relevant government official. Those reports will be available on line for public review. The bill further requires that all lobbyist filings must be done online.
